Oh no, another addiction…

Well, I’m writing, so that’s good.
I’m starting to think that keeping multiple entries is kind of redundant, so I’m going to post on RD every Monday, post here as often as I can, and talk to Red every day.
Yesterday, I wanted to get some work done, but I wasn’t feeling up to it, so I’m going to do the work I meant to do yesterday today. Good thing today is Friday and my off day, anyways.
I’ve gotten super into Netflix’s Daredevil. Kicks the shit out of Ben Affleck’s version. I watched all of season 1 yesterday and I’ve started on Season 2 today. It’s funny, actually. Usually when I get super into a show, I read the Wiki episode synopsies and that usually loses my interest. I did that for this show but I still watched the episodes. That’s how good the show is.
Today my goals aren’t that big. I just want to catch up on what I couldn’t do yesterday, so I’m keeping the same to-do list up even though it’s the wrong date.

Well, it’s February 1st already and I have failed to release something in January. Big surprise.
That is not going to happen in February though. I’m either going to be releasing THD #2 or re-releasing HIS FOR CHRISTMAS (I’ll have to change the title), but I’m definitely going to doing something this month. I think the box set is supposed to be out in March, so it’ll be interesting to see if sales of that will translate into sales for my other books. I’ve also got another promo thingie in January for WAITING FOR DARKNESS, so we’ll see. I know they say that writing is the best thing you can do to promote yourself, but I’m starting to think that if you don’t put yourself out there, a thousand books or no, you’re not going to make much sales. Still, I’m determined to make 2017 my year.
I’ve been working on the two classes as well as signed up with individual coaching sessions with Red Jameson. I’m super excited to have a coach to just bitch to. The internet is huge, but it’s surprisingly lonely as well.
I haven’t been doing my usual walk; it’s been super cold outside, but it looks like things will be a little better today, so I’ll probably go out for a walk noon-ish. The gym is opening in a few days, so that’ll be something to look forward. They won’t be open until one or so, but that’s better than nothing.
As far as work goes, I want to get down 3k for EVOLUTION. That’s 3 twenty-minute sessions at 1k each, or I can do 4 fifteen-minute sessions at 800 something words. I don’t know, though. At this point, 15, 20 minutes seems like a huge commitment. My attention is going to wander. How am I going to ever write another book again? Maybe Dave not being here is the reason why I can’t write. I’m not accountable to anyone but myself now and I have zero self-control. It’s a good thing I haven’t tried drugs.
I’m re-reading Monica Leonelle’s The 8-Minute Reading Habit and hoping the first 8 minutes will make it easier to stick to a 15 minute habit. It would be good if I didn’t have to go to the bathroom every 10 minutes, thanks coffee!
Luckily, after playing Stardew Valley pretty obsessively for the past week, I’m kind of over it. It’s still enjoyable but I don’t feel the pressing need for the endorphines and seratonin, so hopefully I’ll get something done today.
In fact, I’m going to start now. Just as soon as I go pee again, sigh.

My back hurts a bit, but I just can’t seem to work up the courage or the stone heart to kick the kitty off my office chair. (this is not a game of find the kitty, btw)

(and yes, I really do need three screens, lol) (just kidding about needing the three screens…I think)

January 2017 was an interesting month for me, as far as writing goes. I didn’t get a whole lot of writing done, mostly doing dev edits for A ONE NIGHT AFFAIR, reading and farting around. On the other hand, I did do a lot of introspective stuff, thinking about how I want to progress in this writing game. I exchanged a few letters with a writing coach (Hopefully we’ll be starting tomorrow), and signed up for two workshops beginning tomorrow; Rekindling the Passion for Writing and Write a Book a Month. You can probably guess my state of my mind just from the workshop titles. They were surprisingly affordable and I am considering doing a workshop or two every month, as “too much education” is impossible!

I also had a lot of thoughts about this blog and in the next few days, I’ll be giving it a facelift, updating my booklist, as well as putting up articles and reviews of various things. I will try my best to update Mon/Wed/Fri, and I plan on being more active on my Facebook page as well.

In 2017, I plan on being way more active on social media to coincide with my releases, as I plan on releasing way more books this year than last year. (although, in retrospect, I might have said this before…)

Green smoothies are delicious!

Just came back from my morning walk/grocery run and made myself a green smoothie with spinach/banana/strawberry and it’s actually really good!
Yesterday was my fuck-all day because it was Fridays, so I read a lot (paid ten bucks for an ebook. It was worth it, but not doing it any time soon again) and slept a lot. Got back into Stardew Valley. The minimum graphics kind of turned me off, but after reading reviews, I think I will really enjoy it.
Today, I’m going to do some writing. I might go back and do some editing, but today’s main goal is to write. I want to get 500 words. Or maybe even do a 5 minute sprint first, seeing as how it’s been a while since I’ve written something. I want to get back to the second book of Asura Night. I’ll probably write until 11 and then make chili and just eat off that for a few days. I might take a nap. Oh, who am I kidding, of course I’m going to take a nap. Or maybe I won’t. I took a long nap yesterday and woke up with a headache that wouldn’t go away, no matter what.
As far as my health goals go, I think I’m doing okay, in regards to going on walks. I’m going on Day 6 of hitting at least 10k steps a day, so that’s good. It’s hard to get walking first thing in the morning, but I break up the monotony of walking by catching up on my reading. At this point, my walks are the only time I get any reading done. I really need to read more fiction. I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction, but I don’t write non-fiction so…
Okay, enough procrastinating. I don’t expect to write a whole lot today, but even 1k would be an achievement considering how little I’ve been writing lately.

Yep, these next few days are going to suck for my productivity, mostly because Dave is home from vacation and won’t leave for Taiwan until Friday and then I won’t see him until the 12th, woooyeee.
I got my six boxes of flavored black tea and instead of drinking coffee this morning, I drank some black tea flavored with mango and peach. Super yummy, and it’s not anywhere near as acidic as coffee. I don’t think I drink coffee in the morning for the caffeine, so this black tea works out just fine. I wonder what’s healthier? I guess they all have their up/downsides, but I think I should probably go with coffee. It’s less acidic so no hurt stomach in the morning is a major plus.
Yesterday, as far as writing work goes, I sent that email out to Megan and Red. Heard back from Megan, but did not hear back from Red. Not surprising since I think it was still Sunday or early Monday morning. Maybe I’ll hear something by tonight, who knows.
It’s Tuesday and the ayi is here. I’m not sure how much work I will get done, especially since I can’t send over THD #2 until I start getting paid again. Maybe I should work on HMM #2 or DMR edits. Or finish writing Evolution and start writing that fantasy romance that STILL doesn’t have a name. I do know that I want to release something at the end of this month. Hopefully I want to put out something at the end of the month every month this year.
I need to work on my website. And update my blog. And do something about my Facebook page. So many things to do, I hardly even know where to start.
Just got an email from a pet relocation company and thought I’d check up on cat relocation prices. Holy crap, looks like it’s going to cost us about $10,000 to get all three cats moved, eeeck. A little terrifying, I mean, that’s the price of a small car, but whatever. That’s why I’m working and writing so I can spend money on these kind of expenses, I suppose.
I figured it was going to cost around that much, anyways. Guess I’d better start getting some work done.

I don’t get Sundays

First of all, yay, I’m up before 7 and ready to do work. Er. As long as I get a few levels on Wow, first. It’s a Sunday. Talked to dad yesterday and damn it, it’s so depressing and worrying that I know absolutely nothing of his well-being aside from what he tells me, and I know he wouldn’t tell me anything that would make me worry. Shit. I really need to batten down the hatches, put my head down and get the fuck to work. Which is what I intend to do. Today, too.
I do have Wow up, although I plan on writing a little later in the day. I still haven’t finished transfering the synopsis for the untitled fantasy romance, but then again, I realize that hell, the synopsis is actually really, really long O___o. I need to finish editing that one last chapter for THD #2, although the reason I’m avoiding it is because of the big sex scene between Nobuki and Rika and I’m just like…OTL god, I want to crawl into a whole and die from embarrassment kind of thing. Also, I got the edits back for DMR which needs to get started on, and I need to finish writing Evolution since that’s all plotted out and about halfway to finishing the 1st draft.
I bricked the shit out of the Acer cloudbook. Dunno how I did it. I tried installing Windows 8 and that worked really enough, but I can’t get the wireless driver to work. Well, shit. I might have to make that my project next weekend, but for now, this netbook and two desktops will have to do. I need to rez the old big laptop that stuffed somewhere in a cabinet and see if I can make that work. I like the netbook’s keyboard, but the placement of the keys are really messing with me. Like the tactile sensation of typing on it, but the shift button is in a really awkward place.
Today, I don’t plan on doing too much, except for writing and maybe hitting the gym in a little bit. Or maybe not the gym. I think I’d rather go during the weekdays when there’s less likely to be people there. Sunday is bound to be a clusterfuck no matter which time you go, because this is China and China will be…China.
Got Wunderlist downloaded on this cpu. One more level on wow and then I’m turning it off and turning on something inane on Netflix so I can focus on getting that synopsis entered because right now, that’s the thing I’m procrastinating on.
Nothing more to add. Sundays don’t feel like Sundays, especially when everyday is just about a Sunday for me. Still, I just had leftover pizza for breakfast and for lunch, I’ll probably make braised radish and something else. Maybe I need to stop by the store, especially since I’m out of milk. Also need to go downstairs and pick up my packages, since it appears my husband has failed to do so, sigh.
Okay, got my level and I’m ready to get some work done. I think I’m going to work until around 11 or so, have some lunch, do some tidying up, which includes doing the laundry and then play some wow and then do some more writing after that. Sundays are not Sundays for me.

And as usual, I always manage to disappoint myself, sigh. Why even bother? Because a human must have an ambition to survive, to continue bettering themselves. If I just lived my day like the one just past, without anything to accomplish or look forward to, I think it’d be better if I just died…it’d be a hell of a lot easier.
I need to figure out five banners for the ads I’m posting on tbr pile, as well as finish transferring the synopsis for the untitled fantasy romance that still has no name. Not really sure if it’ll ever have a name, to be honest with you. I’ve been listening to a lot of symph metal and stuff and the titles are not really what I’d call to be particularly inspiring as far as book titles go. I’m typing this on the Acer, mostly because I love the big keyboard. Mind you, there are times when the smaller keyboard feels strangely nice because there’s not a whole lot of travel between the keys, but I am really sick of not hitting the shift button and ending up three lines above where I wanted to be, argh. But this computer is terrible with Windows 10, so I’m going to do what I should’ve done a long time ago and install Windows 7 on it. Windows 10 is just too slow on this cpu and I’m not sure how much better 7 will be, but at least I’ll be familiar with it. The lack of HD space is a little worrying, but I knew that was going to be an issue even when I bought the thing.
No class yesterday night. I failed to check my phone before I left, which would’ve allowed me to see the message from Mrs Zhou, so lesson learned is: always check phone right before I leave the house for anything.
Also, I need to remember to email Red. I really need guidance. I don’t know where to go from here. Well, the logical side of me knows what needs to happen: utilize all edits and then go on from there, but it’s a lot easier said than done.
Okay, so right now, I’m just going to focus on transferring the synop for the untitled fantasy novel. It’ll be interesting to see how quickly I can finish it, seeing as how it’s a freaking 10k synop and I really shouldn’t have any problems with writing it. It will be an experiment and I’m probably going to post up daily updates on my blog because god knows I have precious little to talk about, anyways.
Playing WoW now, mostly because I spent the money. I’ll probably just grab one more level and then call it a day. 2 levels a day isn’t bad. Maybe tomorrow I’ll get more, seeing as technically Friday’s the only day I don’t let myself worry about writing, so maybe I’ll grab 5 levels then 🙂

Can I get a 5 year redo?

Wow, 2017, already. I definitely puttered around in 2016. And 2015. And 2014. I want to do a redo of the past five years, please. Maybe if I had been less lazy, I would already have ten more books under my belt and making a steady income. Ah well, no use crying over spilled milk, but I have to be honest with myself. This year, I’m going to make it. Make it or die, baby.
I’m going to try my best to add another 5 books to my bibliography.

Or at least, those are the bare minimum I’d like to complete by 2018 rolls around. Or something like that. It’d be great if I could do more, but I will be happy to get just those finished and off my plate.
This past week, even though I’ve got plenty of things to work on, I was working on a plot for a new fantasy romance that still doesn’t have a name just yet. It is kind of inspired by The Great Wall and Attack on Titans, in that humanity has chosen to hide behind a large wall to keep something out and our heroine gets transported to that world, as the so-called Seer who can protect the kingdom from utter annihilation.
I’ve got the entire synopsis written out, so it’s really all a matter of building on that even more. I’m not sure when I can finish it, but I would love to be able to dedicate even 500 words a day on the project. After all, I can finish it in half a year, which is better than anything else I’ve been able to do in the past few years. God, I’ve allowed myself to grow complacent. Taking 3 hour naps during the afternoon and shit, jesus, am I paying for it now. Luckily, I haven’t been taking naps during the afternoon in quite a while, so that’s good. The entrance of WoW, has changed that. I’m going to try to work until 2 or 3 today, and I have my last class today, and then it’ll be a month of just working for me and I’ll go to Korea for a week or so, to see mom and dad. Really thinking hard about my summer vacation. David will be gone for a while, but I’m thinking of just going to Chicago for maybe 1-2 weeks. At least last year Beka was here, but now it’s just going to be the ayi and I don’t want to leave her saddled with the cats for too long. Besides, I’ve already decided 2017 was going to be the year of lots and lots of working.
Right, that’s all for me for now. Today’s goal, I just want to transfer the entirety of the fantasy story synopsis into the Scrivener project and finish editing the last chapter of THD #2. I need to send an email to Megan and let her know I have to push back the edits until the end of February, and either wait until then, or do the line edits myself then. Thankfully, in my opinion, I think line editing is a little less difficult than dev editing, so I might be able to do it myself. Who knows. Or I’ll find someone else who is willing to edit the project and let me pay once they’re done. who knows, who knows.
I also need to email Red and get the coaching rolling. I just feel like such a pud sometimes and there’s really no one I can talk to. Everyone I tried talking to only care to talk about themselves, so I’m the one who’s constantly asking them questions and they don’t reciprocate. I’ve actually realized that the art of conversation is a dying art. Or am I really not that interesting or likeable enough? I ask people questions about their lives and they tell me, but they don’t ask me back, even as just a courtesy.
right, right, let’s get to work. Also, looks like it’s pizza for lunch again, loool, first world problem!

Lukewarm coffee…not that great, actually

Also, it’s 2017 now. Yikes. Thought I would be farther along in my career by now, but that’s entirely my fault. I’ve allowed myself to grow complacent and lazy. Yesterday night, I couldn’t sleep because I was worried about my dad. I really need to send him money. If it wasn’t for Mom and Dad’s divorce, there really wouldn’t be a damn thing I’d care about. Oh well. At least, Mom’s happy.
Today, I’m going to work on the yearly planner and finish edits for THD #2. That’s all. Nothing flashy. I might do some more plotting for that fantasy romance THAT STILL DOESN’T HAVE A NAME. Maybe I should come up with a name first, LOL. I’ll play some wow, at least catch up with Dave’s mage, but aside from that, I’m not too busy today. I might have one more class to do tomorrow and that’ll be it until next month.
I’ve got my new workstation coming today, hopefully, so I’ll be putting that together and putting it next to the TV, so I can do my work even when Dave comes home from work. I’m hoping it’ll up my productivity at night, because it seriously dips at night. I have a hard time working at night, mostly because Dave’s on the computer, doing what he needs to do.
I’m getting the kobo glo tomorrow, hopefully, so I’m looking forward to getting some reading done in bed before I sleep. 🙂 I’d love to be able to read 100 books this year. I failed in 2016, but 2017 is a brand new fish.
Now I need to get some work done…

Bzzzz I’m a busy, busy bee

Okay…these past few days have been kind of bad for me.
Well, not really. I mean, I got the majority of the plotting finished for the UF story I’m supposed to hand over for the box set. But now I’m starting to wonder if I can finish it in time and get it edited as well, since Megan’s not that fast when it comes to edits.
But I got the plotting finished for EVOLUTION and the Untitled paranormal/fantasy romance story, so basically all I have to do is write them. EVOLUTION was a waste of time since I had it plotted before, but I couldn’t locate it anymore. I really don’t know why I didn’t put it into Scrivener first thing when I finished it before. That seems like a grave misstep on my part, bah.
But at least I’m familiar with EVOLUTION now. Since it had been a while since I had opened the document last, there were some parts I forgot. Actually, I think the plot is a little different now, hopefully for the better. I’m still fumbling a bit with the fantasy romance story. I think I’ve got the major ideas down, but I still need a bit of sticky glue to put them all together. I’ll try to get that finished today.
ONLY AFTER I FINISH EDITING THD #2. It was due on Tuesday and it’s Thursday now. GUH. So today’s main goal is finishing edits of THD #2. I think it’s possible to do. I think I have only four more chapters to go. Unfortunately, they are the four most emotion charged chapters, so it’s going to be difficult, that’s for sure.
I need to get them finished today and then try to put the plot for the fantasy romance together so I can start writing that ASAP. Ugh, holidays suck.
